WALKATHON CANINE CONTESTS

nce again this year, four canine contests are planned, to take place after the Walk on Sunday, May 3rd 2009.
The DJ will announce the gathering of the contestants when most walkers appear to have returned from the walk.

Estimated time: 10:15 am   (Weather may require a change of this time.)

Location of Contest: Music Mania Music Station upon completion of the Walkathon, Fifth Avenue Station
The DJ will make an announcement when the contests are about to begin.

This year’s contests are:

  1. “Definitely a Diva” – You know who we’re talking about!! Is she your four-legged companion? The Diva-Dog is definitely spoiled, definitely prissy, and definitely the center of her world---and yours!! She goes to the dog park---but only to watch the other dogs!! She would NEVER allow her properly primped paws to touch the common grounds!
  2. “The All-American Male” – When you seen him strutting down the street, there’s no question he is 100% pure beefcake! All the girl-dogs in the neighborhood and at the dog park are crazy about this smooth-barking hunk!
  3. Best Dog-Owner Look-Alikes – Has anyone ever told you that your dog is perfect for you? You both have that certain look about you. A pair of “bulldogs” or two svelt “greyhounds?”   Could we match up the two of you in a crowded dog park?
  4. A Most Unlikely Pair - No doubt you’ve seen them. The muscle man walking his five-pound yorkie decked out with bows in hair. Or the svelt sophisticated socialite with her bulldog named Steve. Has anyone ever told you, ”I would never have thought you would have a dog like that!” If so, join us and hear what our judges think!

Rules:

  1.  Contests are open to Walkathon participants only.
  2. The contests are meant to be FUN FOR ALL!!! They are not meant to be a brutal competition!
  3. Humans belonging to the competing canines must be Walkathon participants, and turn in pledgesheets and pledge monies at registration, prior to the walk and the contest.
  4. Canine participants must in some way be “related” to their human companions (i.e., live together).
  5. Only one canine per human is allowed to participate.
  6. Each competitor can participate in only ONE judging event.
  7. All contests are open ONLY to real dogs. (Cats or other animals disguised as dogs will be disqualified.)
  8. ADOPT is not responsible for any interested parties missing the contest(s) – for any reason.
  9. All decisions of the judges are FINAL.
  10. HAVE FUN!!
